About The Yarra

To quote E.F. Schumacher, ‘small is beautiful’! Located in Roscoe, NY, in the western foothills of the Catskill Mountains, The Yarra is a warm & comforting boutique inn for those wanting to get away to nature and enjoy good quality food and wine. The inn is only minutes from the finest fly-fishing rivers: The Beaverkill and Willowemoc as well as local breweries, distilleries, and restaurants

The house was originally built in 1890 by the Baxter family and has been recently renovated. It offers four bedrooms with private bathrooms. Breakfast is included as part of your stay, and we also offer a full dinner menu.

The Yarra (named after a river in Melbourne, Australia) is inspired by the owner’s (Sonya and Paul) experience of the small and boutique inns they’ve stayed in on their travels. The food is a nod at the Melbourne food scene, which has an eclectic mix of cuisines influenced by the diverse and multicultural peoples who have immigrated there.
